Data Files
Upload the survey microdata and any related machine-readable files used in production workflows. Common formats include Stata, SPSS, SAS, CSV, and tab-delimited extracts. File names and labels should be clear and consistent.
The UNESCO Institute for Statistics Survey Data Catalog supports the internal deposit of survey microdata, documentation, and related study materials for stewardship and controlled operational use.
Microdata deposited through this application will not be published in the public catalog. Access to deposited files is restricted to authorized UIS staff members and is managed as part of UIS internal data governance and review workflows.
Before you begin, prepare your data files, questionnaires, technical documentation, and core study metadata so the deposit can be reviewed efficiently.
Upload the survey microdata and any related machine-readable files used in production workflows. Common formats include Stata, SPSS, SAS, CSV, and tab-delimited extracts. File names and labels should be clear and consistent.
Include questionnaires, codebooks, interviewer instructions, technical reports, sampling notes, processing documentation, and any internal guidance needed to understand and reuse the data responsibly.
Complete the study metadata in the deposit application. Provide a concise title, abstract, collection dates, country coverage, producers, and other recommended fields so UIS staff can identify and review the deposit.
Deposits in this catalog are intended for internal UIS handling only. Select the most appropriate internal access and handling notes, but do not expect the deposited microdata to be published for external public use.
Deposits are managed through the Data Deposit application. The application allows authorized contributors to register a project, describe the study, upload data files and supporting documentation, and submit the package for internal review by UIS staff.
Start a new deposit project with a short title and description. This creates the internal workspace for your submission.
Enter the study description, upload the microdata and supporting files, and review the summary to ensure the package is complete enough for internal processing.
Once submitted, the deposit is available only to authorized UIS staff for review, follow-up, and controlled downstream use according to UIS procedures.
